This fast-paced and interactive workshop will provide you with the opportunity to learn and practise proven methods to help clients with anxiety disorders. Clients who are beset by anxiety — panic, dread, embarrassment, phobia, etc. — typically have difficulty attending to other things in their lives, including the underlying conditions that might contribute to anxiety. When clients feel relief from the arousal of anxious symptoms, the real work of psychotherapy can begin to change behaviour and create lasting psychological health. You will learn techniques that will teach your clients how to reduce their anxiety symptoms within weeks of starting therapy and that will complement both short- and long-term modalities. Focus during the seminar day will be not only on enhancing your techniques, but also on ways to enhance client compliance in applying these techniques themselves. The Seminar will also address the appropriate use of medications. After the seminar, participants will be able to teach and apply the following methods: Participants are encouraged to bring clinical experiences with anxiety or vignettes of their own clients. |
| Fee: $169 until April 10; $179 after April 10 Location: Metro-Central YMCA 20 Grosvenor Street, Toronto |
